Today we stand at the starting line of our most ambitious fundraising project ever: 2 parents, 2 kids, 1 marathon and $20,000 of fundraising for Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership. We’re calling this the “10 for 10 Project”, because each of us has committed to raise $10,000 dollars for MBHP by running the 2013 Boston Marathon. This year is a year of significant tens for us: 10 years of marriage, 10 years since the final surgery — the last of 14 — that fixed Jesse’s knee and allowed him to run again, and 10 years of relationship with MBHP (Jesse as a staff-member, and Carolyn as donor).
Many of our friends have been with us through all of these milestones. Others, we met along the way. We look forward to making still more friends on this journey to the finish line. We hope you will help us to reach the $20,000 dollar finish line as we run from Hopinkton to Boston on April 15th. By doing so, you will help us to celebrate these joyous tens in our lives, and provide opportunities for low income individuals and families in the Boston area to have a chance for a new and different life — one that includes a place to call home.
