About 10 for 10 project

2013 MBHP Boston Marathon Team after the OneRun: Anna, Hannah, Jesse, Carolyn, and Katherine

Hi there! We are Jesse and Carolyn Edsell-Vetter, slightly over-zealous and under-rested parents of two small boys.  Marathon runners.  Fundraisers.  By day, Jesse is a housing advocate with Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP), specializing in compulsive hoarding. Carolyn is co-CEO of  A Yard & A Half Landscaping Cooperative. Our older son, who is 8, is already an accomplished runner and fundraiser.  His 3 year-old younger brother is not far behind!

We started this blog in fall of 2012 to raise funds for MBHP, and thanks to generous folks like you, we raised in excess of $25,000. But that victory was overshadowed by the deaths and life-changing injuries that occurred on Marathon Monday 2013. Like many other runners with PTSD, depression, and other mental health challenges, we have struggled to get back on our feet (literally) after registering to run Boston again in 2014, so we’re resurrecting the blog to motivate ourselves and offer solidarity to others hoping to cross the finish line on April 21, 2014.

While we’re somewhat relieved not to have to meet a fundraising minimum this year, we still love to challenge others to participate in our mission of tikkun olam, repair of a world that felt so broken last April 15th. So, if you want to motivate us, cheer us on by donating to one of the causes below:

One Fund Boston – Official charity providing ongoing assistance to those injured in the Marathon bombing.

Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership – Helping elderly, disabled, and low- and moderate-income residents of Boston and 29 surrounding communities to find and retain affordable housing.

A Yard & A Half Landscaping Cooperative – Building capacity for worker-ownership, dignified jobs, and self-determination in the Latin American community of greater Boston.

Thank you!
